SEVERE ACUTE PANCREATITIS REVEALING THROMBOTIC THROMBOCYTOPENIC PURPURA: A CASE REPORT AND REVIEW OF LITERATURE

چکیده
Acute pancreatitis is an inflammatory condition marked by localized tissue damage that may lead to a broader reaction. There growing evidence patients with severe form of acute have endothelial dysfunction as one the key pathophysiologic symptoms. In line this, there been new studies linking hematological thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP).Here, we are describing rare conversive event in which led purpura.

A case of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura induced by acute pancreatitis
Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a multisystemic microvascular disorder that may be caused by an imbalance between unusually large von Willebrand factor multimers and the cleaving protease ADAMTS13. In acquired TTP, especially in secondary TTP with various underlying diseases, the diagnosis is difficult because there are many cases that do not exhibit severe deficiency of ADAMTS13 o...

CONTEXT Acute pancreatitis due to thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura is a well recognized condition. Here, we are reporting a rare converse phenomenon, in which thrombocytopenic purpura occurred secondary to acute pancreatitis. CASE REPORT A 19-year-old male referred to our intensive care unit with diagnosis of acute pancreatitis with multi-organ dysfunction. He had history of severe abdomin...

We report a case of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) in a 60 years-old woman with Sjogren's syndrome. Symptomatology on admission leads to evoke the diagnosis of TTP. Biological results allow to set the diagnosis. Actually, association of haemolytic anaemia, schizocytes and thrombocytopenia are in favour of TTP. Undetectable ADAMTS 13 activity (below 5%) confirms the diagnosis. In cong...

Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) is a life threatening, multisystem disease characterized by thrombocytopenia, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, neurological changes, renal failure, and fever. These signs and symptoms are thought to be caused by microthrombi, composed of agglutinated platelets and fibrin, which deposit in the arterioles and capillaries without mediation by an inflamma...
